Jakym Somko ( Ukrainian Яким Сомко ; * around 1619 in Perejaslaw ; † September 28, 1664 in Borsna ) was the hetman of the left bank of Ukraine between 1660 and June 1663 .

Somko was Bohdan Khmelnitskyi's brother-in-law . During the Russo-Polish War , he fought against the Poles and the Crimean Tatars to unite all Cossack countries under his rule. His opponents accused him of conducting secret negotiations with Yuriy Khmelnytskyi and Pavlo Teterja, as well as with the Poles and the Crimean Tatars. On a convened Rada in June 1663, Ivan Brjuchowezkyj was elected the new hetman, whereupon Somko was imprisoned and executed in Borsna in September 1663.

Jakym Somko is the central figure in the novella Chorna rada - Chronicle 1663 by Pantelejmon Kulisch .
