Jamari Lior is the stage name of Maja Tabea Jerrentrup, a German photo artist, lecturer and author with a studio in Königswinter and Pune . She became known through baroque and ethnic productions.

Life

Lior studied media studies , ethnology and psychology at the University of Trier , the University of Utrecht and the Loyola College Chennai and completed an accompanying journalistic training on a scholarship from the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung . In 2010 Lior received his doctorate in visual anthropology with Christoph Antweiler and Michael Schönhuth with summa cum laude . In doing so, she dealt with semiotic image analyzes. During long stays in South Asia, Lior first stood in front of the camera, then behind the camera.

Today she works as an Associate Professor for Media and Photography at the Ajeenkya DY Patil University in Pune, India and teaches the subject "Photography" at the Indian Institute of Photography in Noida , India.
