The James Forbes Glacier is a glacier on the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It flows into the Somow Sea immediately south of Williamson Head and 10 km west-northwest of Drake Head .

The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 2010 after James Sails Forbes (1871 - unknown), a participant in the Dundee Whaling Expedition (1892-1893), the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914), on trips as part of the Discovery Investigations between 1925 and 1927 and on the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931).
