James C. McGroddy Prize for New Materials

The James C. McGroddy Prize for New Materials is an American Physical Society prize awarded annually since 1975 for research into novel materials. It is endowed with $ 10,000.

It has been named after James C. McGroddy since 1999 (when IBM started sponsoring it) . Before that it was called the International Prize for New Materials . McGroddy (* 1937) was Research Director at IBM and Senior Vice President and received the George E. Pake Prize in 1995 .
