James Connolly (long distance runner)
James Connolly ( James Joseph Connolly ; born January 4, 1900 in Woburn , † September 30, 1940 ) was an American middle and long distance runner .
In 1920 he came to the final at the Olympic Games in Antwerp over 1500 m , but did not reach the goal there.
In the team race over 3000 m of the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, he came in 17th place. Although he did not finish the race, he was awarded a bronze medal like the rest of the US team.
