James Corcoran (sound engineer)

James Patrick Corcoran (born August 13, 1904 in Missouri ; died October 30, 1986 in California ) was an American sound engineer.

Career

Corcoran received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1929 . He then continued his studies at the University of California and worked for the Hollywood-based company Electrical Research Products, Inc. From 1938 he worked at the 20th Century Fox film studio as a sound engineer.

He was married to Marquita H. Young Corcoran (1905–1980) and the couple had a son named James Corcoran junior around 1933.
