James Galloway (film editor)

James Galloway (born February 16, 1928 - November 13, 1996 ) was an American film editor who worked for both cinema and television.

life and career

James Galloway began his career as an editor in the late 1960s, overseeing various television episodes. In 1974, together with Frank P. Keller, he received an Oscar nomination in the category Best Editing for Hall Bartlett's cinema production The Seagull Jonathan with the cast of James Franciscus , Juliet Mills and Philip Ahn . From the late 1970s on, he worked as an editor for numerous television films, television miniseries, and TV series. Including for popular series such as Lou Grant or Remington Steele .

In addition to his Oscar nomination, James Galloway has been nominated for six Emmy Awards in his career as an editor and he has received a further eleven award nominations through the American Cinema Editors . He was able to win the coveted trophy there three times.
