James Manos, Jr.

James Manos, Jr. is an American television producer and screenwriter for television series and HBO films.

Life

Manos studied English and theater at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York . He then studied directing at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London . In New York , he continued to study drama and teach acting classes. He has also directed various theater productions.

  • 1993. Producer of the television movie The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom
  • 1999: Co-producer and screenplay for the first season of The Sopranos .
  • 2002: Producer and screenplay for two seasons of The Shield .
  • 2006–2013: Idea, producer and script for 96 episodes of Dexter .

For television and HBO, Manos produced The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas cheerleader-murdering mom starring Holly Hunter and Beau Bridges . This film was nominated six times for an Emmy and won the award three times. He also received a CableACE Award for best film of the year. Other productions were Apollo 11 and The Ditchdigger's Daughters
