James "Jamie" Wingrave (born July 22, 1981 in England ) is a British show jumper who has been riding for Hungary since 2006 .

Career

Wingrave came to equestrian sports through his parents when he was seven.

In 2002 he won gold with the team and silver in the individual at the European Young Rider Championships. He had a scholarship for talented athletes.

Wingrave moved to Hungary in 2003 and became a Hungarian citizen in 2006. Since then he has ridden in more than 30 Nations Cups , as well as at the 2006 World Equestrian Games for Hungary. In 2007 he won the Budapest Grand Prix . In 2010 he became Hungarian champion. The former Chef de Equipe, Michael "Mike" Bullmann from England, through whom he emigrated to Hungary, is always at his side. Bullmann's business partner Joe Turi died unexpectedly in 2003, after which James Wingrave took over the stable at the age of 22.

In 2009 he lived on Tina Pol's facility in Switzerland and rode for the Thermoplan team. In the meantime he has returned to Hungary.

Private

Wingrave comes from a horse-loving family, both parents are riders. His mother works for the British Show Jumping Association .
