James Yuill (2009)

James Yuill (* 1981 in London ) is a British folktronica singer.

Life

At the end of 2005 he released his debut album "The Vanilla Disc". However, the success was only moderate and so he switched to the London record label Moshi Moshi in early 2007. He first became known to the general public through his second studio album “Turning Down Water for Air”, which was available in Germany in early 2009. These include pop songs like "This Sweet Love" and "No Surprise" to more reserved songs like "Somehow". Before that, in 2008 he toured major festivals such as "SXSW" in Texas , Latitude and appeared in smaller clubs and bars. In 2010 he will also appear in countries such as Japan, France and Austria.

The music magazine Clash described Yuill as "a one-man band armed with a laptop, mixing decks and an acoustic guitar" (a one-man band equipped with a laptop, mixer and an acoustic guitar). The Englishman also works as a remixer (including under the pseudonym "Hunger / Thirst") and delivered remixes for bands such as The Brute Chorus , Tilly & the Wall, The Answering Machine and Au Revoir Simone .
