Jamie George (born October 20, 1990 in Welwyn Garden City , Hertfordshire ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as a hooker for the English national team , the British and Irish Lions and the Saracens .

childhood and education

George's father Ian was also a rugby player and was a scrum half for the Northampton Saints , London Welsh and the Barbarians . Jamie started out as a rugby player when he was five and attended Haileybury Private School, which specializes in promoting rugby talent.

Career

At the age of 14, George was accepted into the Academy of the Saracens, where he is still active today. In 2009 he made his first appearance with the professionals against the Northampton Saints. He won the English championship with the Sarries in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 ; In 2016, 2017 and 2019 the European Rugby Champions Cup , the highest club competition in Europe.

National team
