Jamieson Ridge is a narrow, 1.5 km long and around 1200 m high mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Coatsland . In the Shackleton Range, it looms at the southwest end of the Herbert Mountains .
The United States Navy took aerial photographs of this mountain ridge in 1967. The British Antarctic Survey carried out surveys between 1968 and 1971. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1972 after the British geologist Thomas Francis Jamieson (1829-1913), who in 1865 had developed a theory on isostasia .
