Jamil bin Ibrahim al-Hujailan

Jamil bin Ibrahim al-Hujailan ( Arabic جميل بن إبراهيم الحجيلان, DMG Ǧamīl b. Ibrāhīm al-Ḥuǧailān ; * 1925 in Buraidah, Qasim Province ) is a former Saudi Arabian politician and diplomat , most recently with the rank of ambassador.

Life

Jamil bin Ibrahim al-Hujailan studied at the Law School of the University of Cairo . He ran the state media in Saudi Arabia. From 1960 to 1963 he was ambassador to Kuwait . The Saudi Ministry of Information is the ministry for everything that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issues and oversees: newspapers, magazines, channels and all media. From 1964 to 1970 Hujailan was minister of censorship, he was the first to hold this position as minister of information, his predecessor in office with the same duties, Abdullah Belkhair was called minister of state for broadcasting, press and publications. From 1970 to 1974 he was Minister of Health in the Privy Council of Faisal ibn Abd al-Aziz . From September 18, 1973 to July 29, 1976 he was ambassador in Bonn. From July 29, 1976 to 1999 he was ambassador to Paris . From April 1996 to March 31, 2002 he was Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council .

Jamil Hejailan is married with one daughter and three sons.
