Medhat Sheikh el-Ard

Medhat Sheikh el-Ard ( Arabic مدحت شيخ الأرض, DMG Madḥat Šaiḫ al-Arḍ ; * April 20, 1920 in Syria ; † May 18, 2001 ) was a Saudi Arabian diplomat .

Life

Medhat Sheikh el-Ard studied medicine at the American University of Beirut and at the University of Baghdad . He then taught at the Jeddah Health Institute and became a court doctor. Medhat Sheikh el-Ard was a personal physician and adviser to Saud ibn Abd al-Aziz . From 1 December 1955 to 1960 he was ambassador in Madrid at Francisco Franco . From 1964 to 1968 he was ambassador to Bern . From 1968 to 1972 he was ambassador to Paris . From 1972 to 1977 he was Permanent Representative of the Saudi Government to the United Nations Office in Geneva . He was the client of the Geneva mosque .
