Jamnica dd
As a result of various acquisitions, the company became part of the Agrokombinat group in Zagreb in 1961. In August 1978 a new plant was opened in Jamnicka Kiselica, which increased the production capacity to 50 million liters of bottled water. The war in Yugoslavia in the early 1990s also reached the Prigorje region , where the Jamnica company is located. The factory was badly damaged in October 1991 and production could not be resumed until two years later. The company grew rapidly and in 1995 new bottle labels and the new company logo were created. In 2000 the production of the fruit drinks Juicy and the still water Jana began . Today Jamnica bottles 400 million liters of mineral water and non-alcoholic beverages every year.
Mineral water
source
The water, named after the place of origin, has its source in the Prigorje region in central Croatia. In 1772, Empress Maria Theresa ordered some analyzes to be carried out on the Jamnica spring, which had been in use for centuries. The water ( Jamnicka kiselica ) was found to be so pure that it was included in the mineral water register of the Austrian court. The first bottle of Jamnica water was bottled on October 18, 1828. Since then, water has been present on the Croatian and Slovenian markets. Over time, different sources were drilled to win the mineral water, including in 1973, the source Janino vrelo (dt. Source of Jana ) from which the mineral water is bottled today.
Special
The water is considered to be particularly aromatic, partly because of its high sodium content, and won the so-called EAU-SCAR for the best mineral water at the 2003 AquaExpo in Paris. In 2015 it won the gold medal for the best carbonated mineral water in Europe at the Mineral Water Challenge in Portugal, in competition with 175 competitors from eleven countries.
