Jamu (according to another reading Ja'am ) was an ancient Egyptian petty king who ruled the Nile Delta during the Hyksos period in the 16th dynasty . So far it has only been occupied by scarabs . His proper name is of Semitic origin; the assignment of the throne name Nebuweserre to Jamu by William A. Ward is uncertain, since it was made only because of typological similarities between scarabs with these two names.
