Jan-Olof Wallgren (born December 4, 1947 in Sölvesborg ) is a former Swedish football player . The defender ran in 173 games in the Allsvenskan and scored 13 goals. Between April 12, 1970 and August 15, 1976, he did not miss a game and was thus in the starting line-up in 159 consecutive games.

career

Wallgren started playing football at Sölvesborgs GoIF . From there he moved to Örebro SK . On October 5, 1969 he came in the 1: 3 defeat against IF Elfsborg to his debut in the Allsvenskan. In the following season he established himself in the team and did not miss a minute in the next four seasons.

After the 1973 season , Wallgren left ÖSK and went to league rivals AIK , as he trained as a sports teacher at the gymnastics och idrottshögskolan in Stockholm. He was also a regular at his new club straight away and continued his streak as a player in the starting line-up. Only in his third year at AIK he was on August 19, 1976 in the 1: 3 away defeat at IFK Norrköping because he did not have a fever in the squad. In the same year he won the only title of his career with the Svenska Cupen .

After completing his training, Wallgren left AIK in the direction of Karlskrona AIF , but returned briefly to Solna in autumn and played three more top division games for the club. After the flying visit, he went back to work for Karlskrona AIF before later ending his career at Lyckeby GoIF .
