Karlskrona AIF is a Swedish football club from Karlskrona .

history

Karlskrona AIF was founded in 1967 as a merger of Karlskrona BK , Saltö BK and Björkholmens IF and took over the place of the first two in the fourth-class division 4 Blekinge . While Karlskrona BK had played several times in the third division in the 1930s and Saltö BK had two seasons in second class from 1962 to 1963, Björkholmens IF did not appear nationwide .

In 1970 the team from Karlskrona AIF achieved promotion to the third division. Initially placed in the midfield of the league, 1973 succeeded the relay win in Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland . In the subsequent promotion games against Helsingborgs IF , Trollhättans IF and Norrby IF , the team remained pointless. At first, this was the only success, as she slipped back into midfield in the following years. In 1978 she finished third behind Kalmar AIK and Emmaboda IS , before winning the relay again the following year. There she prevailed this time without defeat against IFK Kristianstad , Råå IF and IFK Uddevalla and rose to the second division for the first time.

Initially, Karlskrona AIF held in the second division and in 1981 took fourth place in the southern season. However, the crash followed just two years later, when the team was bottom of the table with just one win of the season. As the season winner of Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland , they moved into the promotion games, but failed with 0: 4 or 0: 6 defeats clearly to Jönköpings Södra IF . The following year the success in the league could be repeated and this time the team prevailed against IFK Sundsvall . Again, the team played mainly against relegation and was able to hold the class until 1990. In the spring series of the third division, however, managed to return directly to the second division, but there was again missed relegation in the autumn of the following year. Again the direct ascent succeeded, but this was followed again by the immediate descent.

First, Karlskrona AIF finished seventh in the third-class Division 2 Södra Götaland , before the club missed relegation the following year. At the turn of the millennium, the team fluctuated between the third and fourth level, but was not able to hold onto the third division until 2002. In 2004 she again missed relegation and subsequently established herself in the fourth division.
