The Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Uddevalla , usually abbreviated as IFK Uddevalla , is a Swedish football club in Uddevalla . The club is the oldest still active football club in Landskap Bohuslän . The team played two seasons in the Allsvenskan .
history
IFK Uddevalla was founded on May 14, 1905. In 1924, the club missed the qualification for Allsvenskan and only appeared in the second division. There, however, the championship title succeeded and the club took part in the promotion games. There the team prevailed after a 3-0 home win and a 0-0 draw against IS Halmia and rose to the first division. As tenth in the table, the class could be retained in the first season with two points ahead of relegated IFK Malmö , in the second year of membership in the first division, however, only two wins of the season and with only eight points from 22 season games, the team was bottom of the table and was relegated from the upper house.
In 1928, the relegated team was only runner-up in his second division season and had to let Redbergslids IK go ahead to the promotion games. After all, IFK Uddevalla qualified for the reformed second division, in which in 1928 the number of seasons was reduced to two. In a balanced season, the club had at the end of the season as fifth from bottom only one point more than the four teams placed behind it with equal points and thus managed to stay in the league. In the following season, however, the team finished behind with only three season wins and two draws - and the resulting eight points - the last place in the table and had to relegate to the third division.
1932 succeeded after two seasons in the third division of promotion to the second highest Swedish level of play, where they ended the following season as fourth. The 1933/34 season was marked by a three-way battle for the top. In the end, Fässbergs IF prevailed thanks to the better goal quotient, the tied IFK Uddevalla and Gårda BK were left behind. The following year, however, the disillusionment followed, IFK Uddevalla had to start again as the penultimate to the third division. There was again a close fight for the qualification place for the promotion games and the IFK again lost the shortlist: with the tied team from Tidaholms GIF , which had the better goal difference, the competition was again ahead. In the following years only midfield places could be occupied in the Västsvenska series , only in 1942 succeeded the championship and after successes against IFK Åmål, the return to the second division.
IFK Uddevalla reported back as sixth in the second division. In the 1943/44 season, the team played again with the front, but ended up being fourth six points behind season winner Billingsfors IK , who failed in the promotion games. Then things went downhill again, but the class could be maintained with two points ahead of relegated IFK Trollhättan . If in 1947 it was still third in the table, the following season can be regarded as one of the blackest in the club's history. Without a single win and with only one point, the team said goodbye to the second division in 1948 and was even passed through to the fourth division the following year.
For a long time IFK Uddevalla only played fourth class, then in 1962 the season winner returned to the third division. As third from bottom, however, the relegation was missed and thus sealed the direct relegation. There the team narrowly escaped relegation. From the following season, the club established itself in the front part of the table and in 1966 again succeeded in the championship and thus the promotion. This time the class could be held until 1969 before one had to relegate again. However, the immediate resurgence and the team was able to establish itself in the league. 1979 IFK Uddevalla was season winner and took part in the promotion games to the second division. There they failed, however, without winning points against the promoted Karlskrona AIF and IFK Kristianstad . In 1981 the club rose again from the fourth division. Once again they had the worse goal difference with a tie and IF Warta was able to keep the class.
In 1983 IFK Uddevalla managed to return to the third division as a season winner, but had to accept immediate relegation as bottom of the table. In 1986 the team was even downgraded to the fifth division as part of a league reform. In 1988 they returned to the fourth division and, as a sovereign champion, even made it through to division three. As runner-up in the spring championship, the team was able to qualify in 1991 for the promotion games to the second division in the fall. There the team was again only runner-up with one point behind IFK Hässleholm and failed in the subsequent relegation games with 1: 3 and 0: 4 defeats clearly to Hertzöga BK . In the following year, the team was only runner-up, but was able to make the relegation games more successful. After Enköpings SK was eliminated in the first round , the team prevailed with two wins against Melleruds IF in the second round and celebrated their return to the second division.
45 years after relegation in 1948 and five years after you had to compete in fifth class, IFK Uddevalla played again in the second division. However, the league was too strong for the club. In the end, only the third from bottom of the table jumped out, the club had to relegate directly. In the end, two points were missing from the last non-relegation place.
The relegated team was third in the third division, but in the end the champions and direct promoted Skövde AIK were missing eleven points and the runner-up Norrby IF , who competed in the relegation, nine points. After you could place yourself twice in the middle of the table, the team had to accept relegation to the fourth division in 1997 and was passed back to the fifth division the following season. In the following years the club established itself as an elevator team between fourth and fifth level. The direct re-promotion was followed by immediate relegation back to the fifth division. 2001 then jumped out only fifth place in the fifth division, in 2002, however, succeeded in advancing again. However, it went back immediately to league five and in the league reform in 2005, the team was only integrated into the sixth level. At the end of the 2007 season, they were relegated to the seventh highest division.
