history
The IFK Trollhättan was founded in October 1920. The football team initially played lower class before they settled in the front area of their third division season at the end of the 1930s. With ten wins in 14 games, the club won its season in 1942 and reached the second division through successes against Krokslätts FF in the promotion games. As third in the table behind Örgryte IS and Karlskoga IF , the team missed the direct march into the Allsvenskan . After a sixth place in the following year, the club rose in 1945 together with Skogens IF in the third division. The relegated succeeded the relay victory and after subsequent successes in the promotion round against Jonsereds IF the direct rise. In the second division, however, he was the victim of a league reform and had to relegate again directly together with Lundby IF , Göteborgs FF , IF Viken and Deje IK .
The IFK Trollhättan sat after relegation first in the front area of his third division season before the team slipped a year after reaching the runner-up behind Örgryte IS in 1953 in the fourth division. After the immediate resurgence, it took two seasons until the return to the second division was made. With three wins of the season, however, the team had no chance and went down again together with Fässbergs IF and Skara IF . After several years in the middle of the table, she rose in 1962 to the fourth division. In the following years, apart from a brief interlude in the 1967 season, she established herself in the third division and two seasons from 1974 to 1975 in the fifth division at this level.
After a renewed promotion to the third division at the end of 1981 IFK Trollhättan advanced to the elevator team in the following years and commuted between third and fourth division. In 1986 the team fell victim to a league reform and was assigned to the fifth division. As a result, she wavered between this and the fourth division before she established herself there in the early 1990s and unsuccessfully participated in the promotion games to the third division in 1995 and 1996. In 2005, the team was again the victim of a league reform, as the bottom of the table in its fourth division season, the club was moved back two divisions. As a result, he jumped between fifth and sixth league before he was able to stabilize in the fifth division from 2009.
