Jan Eiberg Jørgensen (born March 12, 1970 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish handball player . The left-hander became known in the handball Bundesliga as a SG Flensburg-Handewitt player . His playing position was the right back space .
Jørgensen began his career in Denmark at Virum-Sorgenfri HK . The trained carpenter then moved to SG Flensburg-Handewitt, for which he played 318 Bundesliga games in nine years, scoring 1,146 goals (224 of which were seven meters). In 2001 he left Flensburg and moved to Ajax København ; after two years there he wanted to end his career, but went back to Germany on October 25, 2003, to the then Bundesliga promoted Stralsund HV . In 2004 he moved to HSG Wetzlar , where he stayed for one season and then ended his career.
For the Danish national team , Jørgensen played 101 international matches, in which he scored 314 goals.
