Jan Henry Holmlund (born March 29, 1957 in Gällivare ) is a former Swedish ski jumper .

Career

On December 30, 1979, Holmlund started after he won the gold medal on the large hill at the Swedish championship, at the Four Hills Tournament 1979/80 in Oberstdorf for the first time in an international competition in the ski jumping World Cup . In his third competition in Innsbruck he achieved his first two World Cup points with 14th place. In his only World Cup competition outside of the tour in Sapporo , Japan , he was able to win World Cup points again with 11th place. He finally finished the season in 80th place in the overall World Cup standings. A short time later he won the gold medal again at the Swedish championship on the large hill.

At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , Holmlund came 34th on the normal hill and 50th on the large hill.

After the Olympic Games, Holmlund played the Four Hills Tournament in 1980/81 , but remained completely unsuccessful and ended his active ski jumping career after the tour.
