Jan Izydorczyk ( 1900 - April 17, 1974 ) was a Polish communist , prisoner in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps , a politician , Sejm deputy and ambassador to the German Democratic Republic .

Life

Izydorczyk was interned in Auschwitz from 1943 to 1944 and was sent to Buchenwald in 1944, where he was a member of the Polish Workers' Party (PAP) on the International Camp Committee.

After liberation from Nazi rule , he returned to his homeland, became a member of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party , a member of the Sejm and the first ambassador of People's Poland to the GDR. He was also vice-president of the Society for the Promotion of the Polish Western Territories .
