Jan Köhler (born July 9, 1975 in Bremen ) is a Bremen politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

education and profession

Köhler studied law at the University of Bremen and passed the first state examination in law in 2000. This was followed by his legal clerkship in the district of the Oldenburg Higher Regional Court , which he completed in 2002 with the second state examination in law.

On January 1, 2007, Köhler resigned from Bremen's citizenship, became a civil servant and completed his introduction to the higher level of tax administration at the Bremen-Mitte tax office. He then worked for the Senator for Finance . In May 2009 he became office manager of the non-party Berlin Senator for Finance Ulrich Nussbaum .

From 1990 to 1995, Köhler was on the board of the Bremen Students' Union. From 1990 to 1996 he sat on the federal board of the German Youth Press . In 1994 and 1995 he was the national school student representative.

From 1995 to 1999 he was a member of the Hemelingen Advisory Board and from 2002 to 2003 a member of the Central Advisory Board . From 1995 to 1997 Köhler was Deputy Federal Chairman of Young European Federalists . He has been on the State Board of Young European Federalists in Bremen since 1995 and on the State Board of the European Union in Bremen.

On June 10, 2003, Jan Köhler became a member of Bremen's citizenship . There he was in the committees for information and communication technology and media affairs, for budget and finance, for auditing, for the constitution and rules of procedure, in the legal committee, in the judges' committee, in the police control committee, in the temporary committee to review an amendment to the electoral law , in the works committees of Fidatas Bremen , Legal Services and Performa Nord as well as in the committee of inquiry to investigate damage to local hospitals.

On January 1, 2007, Köhler left the Bremen citizenship because he became a civil servant.
