Jan Laštůvka [ ˈjan ˈlaʃtuːvka ] (born July 7, 1982 in Havířov ) is a Czech football player .

Club career

Jan Laštůvka began his career at FC Karviná , at the age of 18 he moved to Baník Ostrava . There the goalkeeper was not used in his first season, but after that Laštůvka played regularly.

In the summer of 2004, the talented goalkeeper moved to the Ukrainian top club Shakhtar Donetsk . At the beginning of 2006 he had to undergo a groin operation and therefore only had 13 missions in the 2005/06 season, in 2004/05 there were 22 missions. He became Ukrainian champion in both 2005 and 2006 . He also won the Ukrainian Supercup with the team in 2005 . In late August 2006 Laštůvka moved to Fulham on loan .

In the 2007/08 season Laštůvka was loaned to VfL Bochum without a purchase option . For the 2008/09 season, the Czech initially returned to Donetsk , but was loaned to the English first division club West Ham United a short time later . In August 2009 Laštůvka moved to the Ukrainian first division club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk . There the goalkeeper signed a contract until 2012.

National team

Laštůvka played 17 times for the Czech U21 national team and had an appearance for the U20 selection.

At the end of March 2008 Laštůvka was invited to the last test match before the European Championship for the first time by national coach Karel Brückner in the Czech national team. The goalkeeper stayed on the bench against Denmark .

On September 3, 2011, he made his senior national team debut under coach Michal Bílek when he was in the starting line-up in the away game of the European Championship qualification against Scotland (2-2).
