Jan Lies (* 1970 in Hamburg ) is a German economist who specializes in corporate communication, public relations , marketing, systems theory , power and evolutionary economics .

Jan Lies studied economics in Münster , did his doctorate at the economics faculty of the University of Witten / Herdecke under Carsten Herrmann-Pillath and completed his habilitation under Birger Priddat as a Dr. rer. pole. habil. From 2007 he was professor for PR and communication management at the private Macromedia University for Media and Communication (MHMK) in Hamburg and Berlin. Lies has been Professor of Business Administration, in particular corporate communication and marketing, at the FOM University in Dortmund since 2013 .

Public relations as power management
