The Macromedia University, University of Applied Sciences (until 2008: MFM, Macromedia University of Applied Sciences of the media until 2014: MHMK, School of Media and Communication ) is a Founded in 2006, private, state-approved University of Applied Sciences , based in Stuttgart . It is part of the international education group Galileo Global Education .

With 2,500 students and 80 professors, Macromedia University is one of the largest German private universities for media, management and communication. Study locations are Munich, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin and Leipzig. Macromedia University is a member of MedienCampus Bayern , the umbrella organization for media training and further education in Bavaria, and has been a member of the international film academy association CILECT since May 2012 .

The former University of Art, Design and Popular Music Freiburg (hKDM) has been part of the Macromedia University since October 2018 and has been named after it ever since. Together with the renowned Atelier Chardon Savard fashion school, the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Germany offers a French-inspired fashion design course with a state-recognized bachelor's degree.

The former Vitruvius University Leipzig has been part of Macromedia since March 2019 - now as Macromedia University, University of Applied Sciences . Leipzig becomes the seventh campus of the Macromedia University.

All courses are accredited by the FIBAA or ZEvA agency, in 2011 Macromedia University also received institutional accreditation from the Science Council of the German Federal Government and in 2014 the quality seal of the Bavarian Media Campus. In the 2014/15 CHE university ranking for media / communication studies / journalism, Macromedia University is listed in the top group several times.

courses

The Macromedia University offers around 35 courses with recognized bachelor's degrees in the fields of management , media , journalism , music , film , art and design . The majority of the Bachelor's degree programs are designed for the acquisition of 210 ECTS and last seven semesters, including a practical semester and a semester abroad. The Bachelor programs at Macromedia University also include English-language courses such as Media and Communication Management, Media and Communication Design or International Management. There are no restrictions on admission via a numerus clausus .

At the Macromedia Graduate School, Bachelor graduates can complete a three-semester Master’s degree - alternatively with a pre-semester. There are three courses to choose from: Business Management MA, Design Management MA, Media and Communication Management MA

In addition, Macromedia University has been offering distance learning courses since October 2019 , including the bachelor’s degree in media management and management , which can be taken in 10 different fields of study: General Management , International Management , Marketing Management , Human Resource Management and Business Psychology, graduating with a BA in Management, Media and Communication management , brand communication and advertising , media and advertising psychology , event management and sports management with a BA in media management.

In spring 2020, the university announced that the popular music course would be discontinued. No new students will be accepted for this and the last ones will Template: future / in 2 yearsgraduate in the winter semester 2022/23 .
