Kim Otto

Kim Otto (* 1968 in Essen ) is a German journalist . He has been working for the ARD political magazine “ Monitor ” since 2001 , but also for the ARD / WDR documentary series “die story”. At the same time, Kim Otto has been teaching political journalism at the Macromedia University for Media and Communication (MHMK) on the Cologne campus since 2007 . Kim Otto is on the jury of the Intelligence Agency (INA). Since April 1, 2015, he has been Professor of Business Journalism at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

After studying political science , economics and law at the University of Duisburg , Kim Otto initially worked as a research assistant at Heribert Schatz's chair for political communication . At the same time, he studied journalism at the University of Dortmund , where he obtained his doctorate with a dissertation on policy agenda setting. Then Kim Otto volunteered as a Dortmund student on West German radio .

In addition to various other prizes, Kim Otto was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize in 2007 together with Ralph Hötte and Markus Schmidt for two monitor contributions .

In 2009, he and Sascha Adamek published the book “Schön Reich - Taxes Pay Others”, which was also a bestseller in business, as did his publication “The Bought State” from the previous year.
