The Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences (RWU) is a state university in Weingarten (Württemberg) in Upper Swabia with the four faculties of electrical engineering and computer science, mechanical engineering, social work, health and care, and technology and management. The RWU emerged from the state engineering school for mechanical engineering in Ravensburg . Until March 2005 the university was called the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences .

The number of enrolled students is 3,530 (as of winter semester 2018/19). The university is part of the International Lake Constance University and is a member of the South West University Federation.

courses

For the winter semester 2005/2006, the courses were completely converted to Bachelor and Master degrees ; Diploma courses were completely abandoned.

Since 2008, a doctoral degree has been open to students after completing their master’s degree in cooperation with the University of Zielona Góra .

Rankings

In the nationwide university ranking of the magazine "WirtschaftsWoche", the courses in the field of "Business Informatics" landed again in the top ten in 2018. The industrial engineering course in technology management as well as the courses in applied computer science and mechanical engineering took top places in the CHE ranking in cooperation with the weekly newspaper “ Die Zeit ”.
