Stallion is a Baden-Württemberg heavy and speed metal band from Weingarten that was founded in 2013.

history

The band was formed in 2013. After a first demo in June of the year, the EP Mounting the World followed in October , which consists of six songs. One of these is a cover version of the rock goddess song Heavy Metal Rock 'n Roll . On the sound carrier the band consists of only two members: the singer Paul "Pauly" Ehrenhardt and Alex "Äxxl" Stöcker, who played all the instruments. In spring and summer 2014, the band could be seen at various festivals such as the Metal Assault , the Keep It True and the Hell's Pleasure . The band canceled their appearance at Out and Loud due to the band Frei.Wild , which also took part in the festival. In June of that year, the debut album Rise and Ride was recorded, which was released in September. The release was followed by a European tour with Striker and Bullet . The first real appearance at Out and Loud took place in 2015. In 2016 the band appeared again at Out and Loud and for the first time at Bang Your Head , Metal Hammer Paradise and Summer Breeze . The next album followed in 2017 with From the Dead .

style

Michael Stalling from Metal.de wrote in his review of Mounting the World that it contained melodic heavy and speed metal in the style of the 1980s. Occasionally, influences from older Saxon and Mötley Crüe can be heard and elements from Thrash Metal and Hard Rock are used here and there . Raphael Päbst from Powermetal.de noted that traditional Speed Metal is offered on Rise and Ride , although there are also medium-paced rock songs. Overall, "rattling guitars, a slightly rough, high-pitched voice and an overall very backward-looking, but pleasantly open production" are characteristic. The band can take on genre colleagues like Skull Fist or White Wizzard . In an interview with Jens Peters from Rock Hard , the singer Pauly stated that the band tried to position themselves politically with From the Dead , whereby they feel strongly connected to punk in particular . Peters had reviewed the album an issue earlier. Here he assigned the band to Speed Metal, but if he hadn't known beforehand, he would have called them Swedish , Canadian or Finnish , since these countries are more the source of young Speed Metal groups. Musically, there is traditional Speed Metal with angry lyrics in the style of Enforcer , Skull Fist, Striker and Speedtrap . Characteristic are also "screeching guitars" and "jerky singing".
