Skull Fist ( Engl. , Skull Faust ') is a Canadian heavy- and speed-metal band from Toronto .
history
The band was founded in 2006 and recorded the first demo in the same year.
In the cast Jackie Slaughter, Sir Shred and Alison Thunderland Skull Fist 2010 took the debut - EP Heavier Than Metal , which due to the good sales of the band and various underground - Labels several times as a CD , MC and record was re-released. With this recording, the band won the Rock-The-Nation Award in December 2010 , which helped them to sign a record deal with the NoiseArt Records label .
The bassist Johnny Exciter, who had joined the band in the meantime, left after several concerts in Europe in January 2011. With the new bassist Casey Slade, the band went on a European tour in April 2011 with Enforcer and Bullet . While Sir Shred left the band immediately after this, Alison Thunderland played the drum tracks for the first album Head öf the Pack , which was released on August 26, 2011 on NoiseArt Records, before she also left the band. She was replaced on drums by Jake, and Johnny Exciter - now under the name Jonny Nesta and as guitarist - rejoined the band. Skull Fist was the support act for the bands Sabaton , Grave Digger and Powerwolf on another European tour under the name Power of Metal in September 2011 .
On June 30, 2015, the band announced the departure of Zach Slaughter, who returned after four months.
Former members Caleb Beal, Teddy Turbo and Chris Keel later all played with the Canadian band Midnight Malice.
style
The band plays heavy and speed metal in the style of the 1980s . There are parallels to bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal such as Angel Witch . Skull Fist covered the song Attack, Attack by the British metal band Tokyo Blade on Head öf the Pack . Jackie Slaughter names artists from various genres such as Kreator , Astral Doors , Pink Floyd and Johann Sebastian Bach as an influence .
