Marlis Prinzing
Marlis Prinzing (born February 7, 1962 in Geislingen an der Steige ) is a German media scientist , author and university lecturer.
Life
Marlis Prinzing studied history, political science and mathematics at the Universities of Regensburg and Tübingen . She did her doctorate in Stuttgart with the thesis Electricity for the Neckarland and received the ABB Science Prize for it. She began her journalistic work at the Neue Württembergische Zeitung (NWZ) in Göppingen, at Radio 7 and at the Südwest Presse in Ulm. At the same time, she worked as a freelance journalist for papers such as Die Zeit , the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung , the Rheinischer Merkur , the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , the St. Galler Tagblatt and the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . She received teaching positions at the universities of Tübingen (2003–2010), Friborg (since 2005) and Bern (2006–2009) as well as at the Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen (2007–2010). From 2005 to 2007 she was project manager at the European Journalism Observatory at the University of Lugano (www.ejo.ch); In 2007 she became a lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication Studies at the University of Friborg (Switzerland); to this day she represents media ethics there. In 2009 she was appointed professor for journalism at the Macromedia University for Media and Communication in Cologne; There she was entrusted, among other things, with the management of the journalism course at the location and with the development of the master's degree in journalism. She is currently concentrating across the university on the research area as chairwoman of the research commission and the university's research association.
Prinzing has two children, is married to the Swiss media scientist Roger Blum and lives in Cologne and Süßen .
