Center International de Liaison des Écoles de Cinéma et de Télévision

The Center International de Liaison des Écoles de Cinéma et de Télévision ( CILECT ), headquartered in Brussels , was founded in Cannes in 1954 on the initiative of Marcel L'Herbier (President of the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques ) and Rémy Tessonneau (Director of IDHEC) international film school association, consisting of five regional organizations through which recognized film schools are organized. The association has over 180 institutions from 65 countries, in which 9,000 employees train around 55,000 students annually.

Regional organizations

  • GEECT - The Groupement Européen des Écoles de Cinéma et de Télévision / European Grouping of Film and Television Schools is the organization of the CILECT members in Europe, Egypt, Israel and Lebanon.
  • CIBA - CILECT Ibero América is the organization of the Latin-American and Luzo-Hispanic CILECT film schools.
  • CAPA - CILECT Asia-Pacific Association is the regional organization of member universities in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • CARA - CILECT Africa Regional Association is the regional organization in Africa.
  • CNA - CILECT North America is the North American regional organization and a founding member of CILECT.
