Jan Mabuse Mampane

Jan Mabuse Mampane also Reddy Mazimba (* 1946 ) is a former ANC activist and a South African diplomat .

Life

Jan Mampane is the son of Mojapelo and Chief L. Mampane. In 1959 he worked in a hotel in Pretoria and joined the ANC, in December 1962 he joined the Umkhonto we Sizwe . On January 7, 1963, he left South Africa for Tanganyika . In Algeria he received military training. During 1963, the management of Umkhonto we Sizwe was arrested in South Africa. From January 1964 he studied with Chris Hani at the Odessa Military Academy .

He was successively representative of the ANC in Dar es Salaam , Mazimbu, where he organized the construction of a school, from 1980 to 1983 he headed the intelligence service of the ANC in Lusaka and from May 1, 1985 to November 1986, 29 Eves Crescent Harare , where on 18. May 1986 a bomb attack was carried out on his office. From 1988 to 1991 he headed the Sun City POW Camp in Lusaka.

From 1986 to 1991 he was the representative of the ANC in Rhodesia .

From 1996 to June 2, 2001 he was ambassador to Luanda .

From June 2, 2001 to September 18, 2004, he was High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Lusaka .

From September 18, 2004 to 2006 he was ambassador to Karthum .
