Jan Otčenášek

Jan Otčenášek (born November 19, 1924 in Prague ; † February 24, 1979 there ) was a Czech writer and screenwriter.

Life

After studying at the commercial academy, which he finished in 1943, he first worked in an aircraft factory in Prague and joined the resistance movement. Since 1952 he worked in the Association of Czechoslovakian Writers ( Svaz československých spisovatelů ). Since 1960 he has been a full-time writer and since 1973 dramaturge at the Barrandov film studios .

  • When it rained in paradise ( Když v ráji pršelo ) (1972), novel based on an emotional relationship between a young intellectual couple who live under simple living conditions in the Bohemian Forest.
  • The limping Orpheus ( Kulhavý Orfeus ) (1964), a novel in which the youth organized themselves in trade unions during the occupation by German National Socialists and in which their attempt not to be apart from the action during this difficult time.
