action

Franz Pokorný is not a handsome man. Even his subordinate position as a civil servant in an authority in the South Moravian city of Brno doesn't make him much more lovable. Soon he met Comrade Vice Director Karl in the state vacation home and became friends with him. He encourages him to court pretty Alice. To Franz's own surprise, Alice gets involved in his recruitment and eventually becomes his wife.

After a while it becomes clear to Franz why his friend Karl had put him on Alice: she is his lover and should remain so, because Alice has an apartment in Prague and Brno is a few hours away. Now Franz seeks revenge: Murder is in the air - his imagination is at full speed. Should he strangle Alice or shoot Karl? Or should he give up and put an end to his own life? Franz finally finds a different way of getting revenge: he does it like Karl and keeps a lover next to his wife.

Reviews

The evangelical film observer draws the following conclusion: “The game about Franz Pokorny's love and suffering suddenly becomes a drawing of a society that is constantly adapting itself, with all the consequences that arise from it. Recommended for ages 18. "The lexicon of international films also comes to a positive result:" Understanding tragic comedy from the CSSR, especially in the main role [...] played oppressively well.
