Zdeněk Liška

Zdeněk Liška (born March 16, 1922 in Smečno , † August 13, 1983 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovak composer .

biography

Zdeněk Liška was born into a musical family. He showed great talent and studied arrangement and composition at the Prague Conservatory . From 1944 to 1945 he was the conductor of the Slaný Philharmonic . After the Second World War he started working as a film composer in Zlín . From 1947 he composed the music for several animated short films. Later he was given the opportunity to compose feature films. In total, he wrote the music for over 160 different television and film productions, including well-known films such as The Business on Hauptstraße . In 1965 he was awarded the German Film Prize for best film music for his music in Das Haus on Karpfengasse .
