Jan Schulze (born November 20, 1942 in Davos ) is a German internist , university professor and medical professional .

Jan Schulze studied medicine in Berlin from 1962 to 1965, then in Dresden, where he passed the state examination in 1968 and obtained his license to practice medicine , and in 1969 as a Dr. med. received his doctorate. In 1973 he was recognized as a specialist in internal medicine with a sub-specialization in diabetology (1976) and endocrinology (1993). In 1985 , Jan Schulze completed his habilitation in Dresden, and in 1992 he was appointed adjunct professor. In 1994 he was appointed university professor with a focus on endocrinology and clinical metabolic diseases at the Technical University of Dresden .

From 1968 Schulze worked at the Medical Academy / University Hospital Dresden . From 1991 to 1994 he was Deputy Medical Director of the University Hospital, from 1996 to 1999 Deputy Director of the Medical Clinic III there.

Jan Schulze was one of the founders of the Saxon State Medical Association . From 1990 to 2015 he was a board member and from 1999 to 2015 he was President of the Medical Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the German Medical Association . From 2000 to 2011 he was the spokesman for the “Health Alliance in the Free State of Saxony”. From 2012 to 2015 Jan Schulze headed the “Prioritization in Health Care” working group of the German Medical Association.
