Jan Wagner (born June 18, 1985 in Naumburg (Saale) ) is a German politician of the Die Linke party . From April 2011 to March 2016 he was the youngest member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Jan Wagner was born in June 1985 in Naumburg (Saale). He graduated from high school in 2005 at the Naumburg Cathedral High School . Since then he has been studying bioinformatics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg .

Political commitment

Wagner began his political work in 2002 when he joined the youth association ['solid] - the socialist youth . In this he worked for four years as the state coordinator of the Saxony-Anhalt state association. In 2006 the then Left Party.PDS joined .

Wagner also works with the ADFC and the Naumburg Peace Circle. He is a member of the assembly of the State Media Authority Saxony-Anhalt.

Member of Parliament

From 2004 to 2009 and since 2014, Wagner has been a city councilor in the left-wing Naumburg parliamentary group. For the state elections on March 20, 2011 Wagner ran directly in constituency 44 (Naumburg) and achieved second place behind Daniel Sturm . From April 2011 to March 2016, Wagner was a member of the 6th state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. In the parliamentary group of the Left, he was the spokesman for network politics and modern communication technologies. In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 , he again missed direct entry via a direct mandate, and this time did not make it through a list in the state parliament.
