Jana-Server is a proprietary server / proxy software that runs under all versions of Microsoft Windows from Windows 2000 to Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server . The versions up to v2.4.8.51 were also functional under Windows 9x and NT 4.
Jana-Server was developed by Thomas Hauck. In addition to the German and English language versions, various other packages are also available.
For non-commercial use the software for free (is freeware ). The author refuses to open the source code .
Functions
Jana-Server provides the following functions, among others:
- Proxy server ( HTTP , FTP , SOCKS )
- HTTP server
- FTP server
- DNS server
- E-mail server with support for anti-virus and anti -spam programs
- SNTP server
The software logs all transactions of the servers and proxies. It can be linked to different IP addresses and thus operated either only on the local computer, in the LAN or on the Internet .
The software is administered via a website interface, i.e. from any web browser that is located in the available network.
