Jana Pinka (born November 3, 1963 in Freiberg ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). In September 2009, she moved to the state parliament of Saxony , which she was a member of until 2019.

Life and work

Pinka worked from 1982 to 1983 as a geologist assistant in the VEB Research and Exploration Freiberg. From 1983 to 1988 she completed a degree in geosciences at the Bergakademie Freiberg , which she completed with a diploma in mineralogy. She then worked from 1989 to 1992 as a research assistant in the chemistry section of the Bergakademie, where she was awarded a Dr. rer. nat. PhD . From 1993 she was with GEOS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH Freiberg and from 2004 to 2008 temporarily with half a position at the Technical University of Berlinactive in the field of mechanical process engineering. In 2009 she was Deputy Head of the Water - Energy - Biotechnology division at GEOS Freiberg Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH.

Jana Pinka has been married since 1986, has two children and does not belong to any denomination.

politics

Pinka has been a member of the SED and the PDS (1989–2007) party since 1983 and Die Linke since 2007. From 1984 to 1989 she was the representative of the FDJ district councilor in the Freiberg district . From 1999 to 2004 she was an expert resident in the field of technology in the Freiberg city council. She has been a councilor in Freiberg since 2004. In September 2009 she entered the state parliament of Saxony on behalf of the left. There she was deputy group leader of her group as well as a member of the European Committee and a member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture.

Pinka is closely associated with the Freiberg Mining Academy and its history. On July 1, 2017, on the initiative and with donations from Pinka (as well as the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Bergakademie Freiberg), a festive event co-organized by the Denk Mal Fort! eV, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of death of the great mineralogist, geologist and mining expert Abraham Gottlob Werner at the Werner monument in Dresden-Löbtau, in front of the New Annenfriedhof . A new memorial stele was inaugurated for this purpose.
