Jandía

On the Canary Island Fuerteventura, which belongs to Spain, Jandía refers to the Jandía peninsula in the south as well as the mountain range located on it, whose highest peak, Pico de la Zarza (also: Pico de Jandía ), is Fuerteventura's highest mountain at 807 m . There is also a headland Punta de Jandía and the tourist resort Jandía Playa (also: Solana Matorral ), which forms the center of the southern island with Morro Jable . The Jandía peninsula administratively belongs to the municipality of Pájara .
In the north, the Istmo de la Pared is only five kilometers wide and is the narrowest point in Fuerteventura. On its west coast are the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island, which surfers like to use.
On the north coast of the peninsula is the small fishing village of Cofete , near which is the Villa Winter , which was built by the German businessman Gustav Winter.
