Janet Jackson is the debut album of Janet Jackson that in September 1982 with A & M Records was released.

history

Janet Jackson was best known as a television actress before signing her contract with A&M. B. she played in the series Good Times . In the series Diff'rent Strokes , where she also played, she later sang parts of The Magic Is Working . For her album she did not want her family members to participate. After all, the cover photo was taken in the Jackson family's swimming pool. The pieces on the album were mostly dance-pop numbers and fairly simple ballads .

Five singles were released, including Young Love and Give Your Love to Me . The album reached number 63 on the US charts.

criticism

The website Allmusic wrote that Jackson had not yet developed his own musical personality on the album. Not surprisingly, Jackson was also a teenager. Only the first single, Young Love , stands out among the "disco pounders".
