All for You is the seventh studio album of Janet Jackson that in April 2001, Virgin Records released. After The Velvet Rope , which addressed issues such as domestic violence , All for You went back in a more pop-oriented direction. The Billboard magazine led All for You at number 141 of the albums of the decade.

history

A week before the album came out, MTV aired a special for Janet Jackson called MTV Icon . In the end, Jackson was already playing her new track All for You . Doesn't Really Matter was released as a single in May 2000. It was on the soundtrack of the Klumps family and the mad professor . All for You was first published without a Parental Advisory sticker. However, one was attached to the second pressing, and a so-called "clean" edition was also published, in which the track Would You Mind was missing. In Singapore the album was banned entirely. On All for You , Jackson sang on topics such as divorce and sexuality. The album was re-produced by the well-known production team Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis , with whom she had worked since Control .

Five singles were released, including All for You and Someone to Call My Lover . Come On Get Up was only released in Japan in 2002 .

criticism

The website Allmusic called the album "sultry" and "overly long". It would have been better if the record had been more relaxed and Jackson had focused on great songs.
