Janet von Stillfried (née Anschütz ; * 1962 ) is a German historian and author .

Life

Under her maiden name Janet Anschütz, the historian published various writings on the history of Hanover in the 20th century, especially during the Nazi era , but also on technical and cultural events such as the Eilenriederennen .

Under the working title "One Page, One Name, One Fate", von Stillfried researched a memorial book for the murdered slave laborers in the memorial cemetery on the north bank of the Maschsee , which Lord Mayor Stephan Weil was on site for the city at the commemoration event on May 8, 2012 Hanover was handed over.

Together with the historian Shaun Hermel produced by Stillfried the film war, forced labor, death, hope that on the site of the former Jewish school of horticulture in Ahlem at a joint commemoration of the city and region Hannover in 2017 on the anniversary of the murder of Ira Volkova premiered and remembered the fate of the slave laborers.
