Janete Strazdina ( Latvian Žanete Strazdiņa , nee Ezerose ; born June 16, 1968 in Latvia ) is a former Latvian national volleyball player .

Athletic career

Strazdina won the gold medal in 1986 with the Soviet national junior team at the 1986 European Junior Championships.

At the age of 24 Strazdina came to the German league for CJD Berlin , with whom she was one of two professional players in 1993 at the side of u. a. Grit Naumann and Maike Arlt won the European Cup. In addition, there was the double from winning the German championship and the cup in 1993 and 1994 and the cup win in 1995. A jury of experts voted Strazdina the best attacker and server in the German league several times and in 2007 became the second best attacker in the German league in the last 20 years elected.

In 2000, the 182 cm tall exceptional player followed her colleague Anita Rosijska to the VC Zeiler Köniz in Switzerland, where she won the championship and the cup several times and was voted the best player in the league, despite highly endowed offers from Japan and Italy . The team put in a national series of over 90 victories between 2001 and 2005.

In 2007, the 147-time national player finally ended her career.

Private

Strazdina lives with her partner and daughter in Switzerland.
