Jannpeter Zopfs

Jannpeter Zopfs (born January 12, 1934 in Schleswig ; † May 6, 2020 in Landau ) was a German lawyer and a judge at the German Federal Court of Justice from 1980 to 1999 .

After completing his legal training, Zopfs joined the Lower Saxony judicial service in 1963 and was appointed regional judge at the Osnabrück regional court in 1967 . 1973 he became a judge at the Court of Appeal to the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg .

Zopfs was elected judge at the Federal Court of Justice in 1980. Upon reaching the age limit, Zopfs retired on January 31, 1999.

He received his doctorate in 1962 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster with the dissertation "easements and structural order". During his time as a federal judge, he wrote several handbooks on brokerage law.
