The January Col ( English for January saddle ) is a high mountain saddle in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Elizabeth Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it is located on the north side of Claydon Peak on the Prince Andrew Plateau .
The New Zealand group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) used this saddle in January 1958 after climbing the New Year Pass as a lookout point to get an overview of the extent of the mountains to the north and east.
