Janusz Edmund Zimniak

Janusz Edmund Zimniak (born September 6, 1933 in Tychy ) is a Polish Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Bielsko-Żywiec .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Kielce , Franciszek Sonik , consecrated Zimniak on September 9, 1956 as a priest of the diocese of Katowice .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Polinianum and auxiliary bishop in Katowice on September 25, 1980 . The Bishop of Kattowitz, Herbert Bednorz , donated him episcopal ordination on November 4th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Katowice Auxiliary Bishops Józef Benedykt Kurpas and Czesław Domin .

With the establishment of the Bielsko-Żywiec diocese on March 25, 1992, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Bielsko-Żywiec. On January 16, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
