Jaque Fourie (born March 4, 1983 in Carletonville ) is a South African rugby union player who plays as the inner three quarters for the South African national team. In the Currie Cup he was for the Golden Lions and Western Province and in the Super 14 for the Lions and Stormers in the roster. He currently plays for the Japanese top league club Kobelco Steelers. In 2007 he became world champion with the "Springboks" .

Career

Fourie made his debut for the national team at the 2003 World Cup against Uruguay . He also made his first attempt . He was used in three other games later in the tournament. Until 2006 he changed positions more often and was mostly part of the South African selection. That year he finally prevailed and has since played regularly alongside Jean de Villiers as the inner three quarters.

In 2007 Fourie was able to achieve the greatest success of his career by winning the title at the World Championships . In 2008 he was part of the South African team that won all games against the British selections, inflicting the biggest home defeat on England in history. In 2009 he was part of the South Africa squad when it met the British and Irish Lions . The Springboks won the series against the Lions and also won the Tri Nations in the same year. Fourie was used in all games.
